How To Order From Craftfinder.com

Ordering patterns from Craftfinder.com is as simple as selecting which items you wish to purchase, adding each one of them to your shopping cart, clicking the checkout now button, then filling out your contact and credit card information.

Plus, with Craftfinder.com's Instant Download option, you can choose whether you wish to have the patterns sent to you by mail (for which you will need to pay shipping and handling charges), or to instantly download them so that you can start working on them ten minutes from now!

Here's a quick explanation of how each option works

Instant Download Option

For those familiar with downloading off the internet, after your card is charged, a new window will open allowing you to download the pdf file for each pattern you ordered.

If you didn't understand what I just said, simply follow these steps:

Craftfinder.com's new Instant Download feature makes it so that you can literally be working on your pattern with 2 minutes of purchasing it online! Even craft stores can't do it that fast!

Plus, by ordering Instant Download patterns, you don't have to pay shipping and handling costs – an extra savings for you.

Downloading is extremely simple. All you have to do is to click a link, save the file, and it's ready for you to use. 90% of all computers are set up to receive downloads of the pdf files that we use at Craftfinder.com, simply and automatically. To test whether your computer is already set up to view these files, click here

When the option comes up on your screen to open the file or save it, click the Open button. If the file opened up on your screen, you're ready to roll! If your computer came up with a box telling you that there is no program associated with that type of file, you will need to download and install the absolutetly free Adobe Reader software. It's very safe and easy. You can download it here.

Patterns By Mail Option

For those who don't wish to download, the second option (which is slower) is to order through the mail.

First, place your order by placing items in the shopping cart online. Once that is complete, fill out the shipping information, and we will mail these to you with added shipping cost to the total.

Shipping and handling cost is $2.95 for first pattern and .95 for each additional pattern.

Patterns are printed on an 8 by 11 sheet of paper with first paper being a picture of finished product while other pages are actual pattern.

Patterns are shipped with 48 hours of receipt of order, sometimes longer over weekends.

The most common causes of problems while downloading these patterns are:

1. Acrobat Reader is not installed.
2. Customer buys, downloads, and then can't find the pattern.
3. Customer completes transaction, but fails to download the patterns.

Does your problem fit into any of these categories?

Answers to the aforementioned and well stated problems:

1. You need to go to www.adobe.com to download Acrobat Reader. There is no way around this one. These patterns are created in the Acrobat Reader format. Acrobat Reader is free. Download it and install it before attempting to open the file. You may download the patterns before you download Acrobat Reader. But, you will not be able to open them.

2. Misplacement of the downloaded file happens to a lot of people. See the instructions after this segment for step by step info on how to create a folder and to download a file to that folder.

3. This is not a real big problem either. An email was sent to the address you supply while ordering. That email contains a link to the download page where you may try to download them. IF that fails (it most likely won't), then contact us and we can send them to you through email.

Please contact us only if you have followed the steps outlined and are still unable to get your patterns. Thank You.

The first screen that you see when your computer starts up is called the "desktop". This is where you see all of your icons, etc. From this point, double-click on the icon that has the words "My Computer" under it. When this opens a new window, it will have a list of all the different drives (places that information can possibly be stored) on the machine, and also an icon for the control panel. Find the drive that has "C:" on it and double-click it. You will then be presented with a list of all the folders on c: (pronounced "C drive"). Look at the menu a the top and click on the word "File". When the menu opens, click on "New". A new menu should open to the right. Click on "Folder". The screen will scroll suddenly and somewhere near the bottom of the list, if not at the bottom, will be a folder with the name new folder. Type the word "craftfinder" and press the "ENTER" key. Congratulations. You just created a folder. Click on "File" on the menu bar at the top, then click on "Exit".

The folder that you created called craftfinder is where we are going to save the patterns that you download.

Open your internet browser and go to www.craftfinder.com
Find the pattern you want.

Step 1: When you have found the item that you want (or items), click on the download button for that item. I circled it in red for you to find easier.

Step 2: After clicking on that button, it will take you to your shopping cart screen which looks like this:

If you wish to continue shopping, click on the button labeled 'Continue Shopping'. If you are finished and wish to check out, click on the button labeled 'Check Out'. Once you have done that, you will be taken to a screen that asks for your name, address, and other information. All areas that have a red asterisk next to them are required. At the bottom of the page, you will see where you enter your credit card number and there will be a breakdown of the things you have ordered. It will look like this (with credit card area removed):

Step 3: Once all the information is entered, click on the button 'Place Order Now'. Once you have clicked on the button, don't click on it a second time. Sometimes placing an order can take up to 60 seconds.

If you'll also notice the yellow padlock in the bottom right, that means that your information is being sent securely over the internet.

Step 4: For each item that can be downloaded immediately, you will see a link next to it such as the one circled in red above. You must download each individually before clicking on the link circled in green. Furthermore, you have only 24 hours to complete the downloads. Otherwise, you will have big problems. Here is how it is done.

Step 4a: Using the right mouse button (the one on the right side of the mouse), click on the 'Download Now' link. A small grey menu will open. From that menu, select 'Save Target As...'. A window will open that looks similar to this:

Click on the little down arrow that is circled in red. It will then look something like this:

Click on "C:" and then find your folder, "Craftfinder", and double click on it. Then click on "Save".

The other method is to simply click on the Download Now link and it will open a window like this:

Once this window is open, click on the disk button (circled in red), and you will be presented with a window similar to the other method. Find your folder again and save the file there. From the window above, you can print the pattern. If you used the other method of download, here is how to find your file and print it.

On the desktop, there is an icon that is labeled "My Computer". Double click on that icon.
Double click on "C:"
Double click on the folder labeled "Craftfinder"
Find the pattern you want to print, and double click on that file.
Acrobat Reader will open (Similar to above picture) and you can then print the pattern.
Congratulations. You have downloaded, saved and printed your new pattern.
